Proposed Coogee to Kingsford Cycleway
Randwick City Council has released its revised concept plan for the 1.9 km cycleway from Coogee along Bundock, Avoca, and Sturt Streets, leading to the light rail terminus at Kingsford. Following community consultations, this revised plan will see 27 mature trees (including significant eucalypt trees on Avoca Street) saved due to the introduction of areas of shared path. Green Ribbons: Tree Saved
Many trees have been marked with green ribbons, meaning they will stay as they are. 16 trees have orange ribbons meaning they will be removed. Sixty new trees will be planted, denoted a a green "new tree sign"Coogee Media mounted our bicycles recently and tried to ride the route as it is configured now and found it to be a very difficult task. The traffic makes it very difficult, it can be uneven, and some parts have what seem to be permanently parked vehicles in the way.
